Suzanne Worrica
Gestalt Therapist & Group Facilitator in Brighton / London

About Me

I bring over a decade of experience in Gestalt Therapy practice, and am a nature-allied psychotherapist  and amateur ethnobotanist.

My foundational training is in Gestalt Psychotherapy, a six-year experiential accredited training, run by the Gestalt Centre London. I work therapeutically with people who have experienced early relational or current trauma that is blocking them from living a fulfilling life.

Additionally I trained in the year long immersive Nature-allied psychotherapy diploma course, becoming course facilitator, supporting the training of therapy practitioners seeking a robust framework to take their practice outdoors.

Today, I am group facilitator at the Gestalt Centre London and Gestalt trainer for Re-vision counselling and psychotherapy.   I continue to develop Gestalt Therapy in Nature, that offers a therapeutic, experiential and soulful approach to my practice.

I have over a decade of clinical experience and over 15 years working within the mental health and arts sector and regard professional development as a life-long endeavour.

Why did I choose Psychotherapy?

I believe that we all have the capacity to know what feels satisfying and life-affirming but sometimes it is difficult to appreciate this especially when we lose our way in life or feel stuck.  Early on I developed the skill of listening and listening out with the capacity to read the emotional temperature of a situation and so as an adult, initial interest in what makes us behave the way we do became a desire to support people to experience life in the best way possible.  Gestalt Psychotherapy with its emphasis on how person and world meet, seemed like a natural fit.  I am passionate about supporting people to relate to each other with more openness, authenticity and compassion – even if opinions differ –  and in current times, this intention seems more relevant than ever.

I trained in Gestalt therapy because of the focus on the here and now that brings attention to the present moment, it sounds simple and is at the same time a powerful methodology that offers opportunity for authentic contact with oneself and the other.  This can bring new insights, a sense of aliveness, and shift stuckness in relationships.
I consider the therapeutic space an alchemical place of shifts and changes, to experiment with talking openly, with silence, laughter – yes laughter! – grief and to try on new ways of being. With the understanding that sometimes silence, or stuckness is a way of communicating when words don’t come.
